It is time to participate in The 100 word photo prompt called the Friday Fictioneer hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields of Addicted to Purple. The challenge is held every Friday. It helps to fine tune your writing skills by telling a your story in a 100 words. I hope you enjoy. This week my story is a bit on the gory side. Exactly 100 words. Critiques always welcome.
The prompt this week comes twice from Claire Fuller; both photo and artwork.

The Wedding Gift.
“You say she came in and smashed things?” the officer asked.
“Yes sir.” I said while remembering the events in my head.
Blood, skin and chunks of brain are splattered on the walls, the floor and all over the pieces of the statue I was working on. My studio is a mess. How could she just smash it up like that? She knew I was getting married and I didn’t want to see her anymore.
A bullet in her head took care of that. But now I need to figure out what to give my bride as a wedding gift.

January 31, 2013 at 1:51 PM
How gory and cold blooded. Finely wirtten, Kim
January 31, 2013 at 1:52 PM
Thanks. I don’t know where this muse came from.
January 31, 2013 at 2:15 PM
That ending is classic!
January 31, 2013 at 4:14 PM
Thanks.
January 31, 2013 at 2:24 PM
Scary, cold blooded murderer!
What was she doing with him at all! And to think of it, he is getting married now.
Good heavens!
January 31, 2013 at 2:27 PM
Yes I know. I wonder how he’s going to explain this dead woman to his fiancee.
January 31, 2013 at 2:56 PM
Ooh, a dark one! Great job
January 31, 2013 at 3:04 PM
Yea, seems everyone went there this week. Thanks.
January 31, 2013 at 3:07 PM
Can’t get any colder that he is–hopefully, his intended will catch on before the wedding.
January 31, 2013 at 3:24 PM
Yes I’m glad you felt his coldness. That’s what I wanted to get through.
January 31, 2013 at 5:24 PM
OMG.. That’s gory.. He has killed her and in the same moment he’s thinking about a wedding gift for her fiancee.. The fiancee definitely deserves better. Great story.
January 31, 2013 at 5:29 PM
Thanks I’m glad you got into it.
January 31, 2013 at 7:19 PM

January 31, 2013 at 10:01 PM
oh wow, he doesn’t even give a damn. haha awesome ending!
January 31, 2013 at 11:25 PM
I think tricked her into going off so he could get away killing her.
glad you liked it.
January 31, 2013 at 10:17 PM
That was a great story! The twist at the end was perfect. Just one question though – why did he bring the officer over, and what was his story? That she came in and killed herself?
January 31, 2013 at 11:32 PM
I’m glad you liked it. She was angry he was marrying someone else and came over and had a tantrum. So he shot her in the head. The (police) officer came to investigate the shooting.
January 31, 2013 at 11:20 PM
Ok – Why am I enjoying this? LOL
January 31, 2013 at 11:34 PM
You and Boomie lol. Well I wrote I must be just as twisted as you twinies.
January 31, 2013 at 11:34 PM
I agree with RoSy, I’m not only liking (?) this, I love it!
January 31, 2013 at 11:40 PM

January 31, 2013 at 11:42 PM
Okay now I’m laughing! Your writing was done very well, I think that was the key point, and it just came out so well … I don’t know, can’t explain!
February 1, 2013 at 2:31 AM
A great way to start my day, even with the gore! Such a cool ending.
February 1, 2013 at 7:20 PM
Makes the rest of your day a piece of cake.
February 1, 2013 at 3:26 AM
A bit of gory tit for tat. Great story.
February 1, 2013 at 7:22 PM
Yea I just went with my muse. Thanks.
February 1, 2013 at 6:45 AM
I think a nice wedding present would be an option to back out! First newlywed spat and it’s splat! Brains against the wall. Chilling.

February 1, 2013 at 7:24 AM
I’m with Rochelle. The best gift might be if he went to prison! Can you say, “anger management class?”

February 1, 2013 at 7:26 PM
Or a padded room and some lithium.
February 1, 2013 at 3:53 PM
Wow, not a vow to take. Cold hearted bastard
February 1, 2013 at 7:27 PM
Yes he is a bit short tempered
February 1, 2013 at 8:33 PM
My, my, Kim..! That came out of left field….
How dare she ruin his bride’s gift…! Rather inconsiderate….
February 1, 2013 at 8:35 PM
You think. She gave him a way to get her out of his life for good. On to the wedding.
February 1, 2013 at 8:37 PM
True…! Such is life, Kim… You never know what’s around the next corner…
February 1, 2013 at 8:38 PM
Hummm.
February 2, 2013 at 5:51 AM

February 2, 2013 at 9:08 AM

February 2, 2013 at 3:10 PM
Brilliant! I wasn’t expecting the ‘middle’ and it twisted at the end very neatly! I loved that.
February 2, 2013 at 3:13 PM
Thanks Richard. How’s the world treating you?
February 2, 2013 at 3:15 PM

February 2, 2013 at 3:25 PM
Great these day. Birthday tomorrow so I am grateful for another year.
February 2, 2013 at 5:21 PM
Wedding gift for his fiancee? A ticket to anywhere else.
February 3, 2013 at 8:40 AM
I certainly would. Thanks for reading.
February 2, 2013 at 9:49 PM
Sounds like the police will have a hard time deciding if he was justified in shooting her just for smashing a plaster bust.
February 3, 2013 at 8:44 AM
He’s betting on the police finding it justified. I think he tried to make it look like a break in.
February 3, 2013 at 4:20 PM
Oh! This was marelous. Hehe. I really enjoyed the ending!
February 3, 2013 at 4:40 PM
Thank you I’m Glad you did.
February 4, 2013 at 8:59 AM
She never learned that no means no! Twisting at the end to shock us, very nice.
February 4, 2013 at 9:01 AM
Thanks. Well she learned now.
February 5, 2013 at 7:07 AM
Now, with an attitude like that, I think she was better of without him – not exactly the ‘caring’ type and I worry for his future wife
February 5, 2013 at 9:40 AM
Yes she doesn’t know who she’s getting.
