The Eminence of Light

While pursuing humanity,
I was met by turbulence
and the illusions
of crystal waters
tainted
with greed, evil and hubris.
Seeds of doubt were planted
before darkness was removed
and beauty revealed.

Now the wicked seeks.
absolution
to escape the depths of purgatory.
Conceit battles for the souls
of those who wear the veils of darkness
and refuse the light of righteousness.

Tripping over my ego
I fell into an abyss of iniquity.
Hoodwinked and beguiled
I wandered aimlessly
tumbling
crashing
and weeping
until I was confused
and weaken by temptation.

I searched
the core of me
I found the energy of light
and the strength
to fight the haunting demons.

Then the earth opened
and swallowed my lost soul.
I was again lifted with
illumination
and elevated from darkness.
to shine the light for you
to see the magnificence
of the heavens and earth

and to

hear the wind whistle, the roar of the sea,
and the cries of birth.
To feel the hopes
the promises for man
and his kind.

Somewhat paradoxical. Our sins make us human? Clever stuff Kim. Had to think about that one. Thanks for waking my slumbering intellect. Painting extraordinary and I notice in comparison to the previous painting that there is a theme of hands, as if the artist had a fascination with the act of creation itself and was representing this within the work.

Fabulous! Ah those crafty egos are always tripping me up too!!
