Sandman from the Rise of the Guardian
I have been captured by sleep . . .
a victim of Sandman’s lure . . .
in the kingdom of dreams . . .
guarded by nightmares evil’s rule . . .
slumbering snores . . .
sloppy drooling . . .
snugged between sheets . . .
cozy under the quilt . . .
pillows puffed . . .
old lullabies hypnotize . . .
weakened by chilly nights . . .
and lazy days . . .
a content prisoner . . .
under Sandman’s lure . . .
if only I was captured . . .
without a pill . . .

Too often nightmares creep
in the depths while we sleep…
If only we could pleasantly reel
as we rest and heal…
Our dreams can make us just as exhaust.
A lulaby with sinister shadow, perfectly executed. ♡ sleep well beautiful friend ♡
Thank you my friend.
Nothing beats a good night sleep with or without that pill. Thanks Kim for sharing this beautiful poetry.
Thanks Joel.
You’re welcome Kim.
sometimes is good to have the pill to asleep, sometimes for me is the sound of the piano!
this is dreamy and then sad and interesting!
LOL!! I long for a good night sleep when I wake up fully refreshed.
yes!
I am sorry you need a pill to sleep. They make me too drowsy. I have been drinking Sleepy Time herbal tea and it helps me. Take care, Keith
This is an old poem but I still need a pill most nights.
