J took me to my sister’s home. We went to my sister’s grandson’s football game. We missed him playing and sadly his team lost. I took pictures of the boys playing but didn’t catch my nephew. However I did catch his mother working the concession stand.
That night we had pizza for dinner. My brother-in-law said it is the best. I’m from NY we have the best pizza. Well it was pretty good. They used whole stewed tomatoes. I like cheesy pizza and this place was kind of stingy with their cheese.
My great-nephew will be singing at church on Sunday. I agreed to go and see him. He wanted me to go home with him and his mother that night. I had a suitcase, an overnight bag, the bag with my unused sweats and my c-pap machine. (It’s for sleep apnea.) He suggested I bring just one bag. I had clothes in one and toiletries in the other. I stayed with my sister and husband.
I was up early and dressed for church. Wore the pants and shoes I wore to the reunion and a sweater. I was surprised to see almost everyone in church was dressed in jeans, even the minister. The congregation is mostly young people.
There was a moment where we hugged each other. There was an elderly woman who hugged my niece then grabbed on to my niece pushing her down into a chair and was talking in tongue. I’ve heard of this happening but never witnessed it. The lady continued on her path and hugged my sister. When she got to me she grabbed on and started talking in tongue again. I wanted answers why she did this. My niece whose church it is only said that the lady does that sometimes. I’m assuming it was a blessing.
The kids put on a fantastic show. They sang, rapped, danced and even preformed a skit about bullying. After the show we paid tithes and the preacher introduced a guest preacher. All in all it was a good morning and spiritually nourishing.
Back at my sister’s my brother-in-law had his mother cook roast beef with potatoes. We stopped at the store to get the fixings for mac and cheese. While my sister prepared the mac and cheese, my great-nephew asked me to ride with him and his to pick out his Halloween costume. The first place we went to didn’t have what he wanted, nor did the second place. He decided he rather have football gloves instead but the cost was to high so we went to yet another costume place where he picked out a costume that was cheaper in the first place. He’s going to be a ninja.
Dinner was delicious especially since one of my sister’s niece fixed my plate and served me. Reality returns tomorrow when I get home. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing all my family and friends.
I was a bit tires so I spent Tuesday resting. Yesterday I went to a NaNoWri group in Brooklyn. I’ll share what I wrote in that class in a day or so. I’m going to catch up on my emails and go back to sharing my poems instead of my life. Thanks for reading guys.

What a lovely family–and wonderful visit. Good luck with your NaNoWriMo writing.
Thanks for all comments.
This is a comment on the last four posts covering your trip away. Good to hear/saw that you had such a good time. The photos help getting a feel of the thing. Extended family and a dear friend (now family too 🙂 ) from the long ago days. I hope it’s not to much of a let down going back to “normal”.
It was a bit of a let down. But had family birthday party yesterday. So I’m still in great spirits.
I missed the let down. Dumb me. Still, it seems to be a thing of the past now, and there were/are good things to outweigh it. So onward and upward.
🙂
